Promotion of FIG Congress 2022 at the Geospatial World Forum

10-11 May 2022, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Geospatial World Forum was back again with a face-to-face event. It was clear to see and interesting to observe the joy of being back to actually meet in person. The well organised conference with the overall theme  "Geography & Humanity" was divided into one day of plenary sessions at the main conference and two days of  technical and special sessions and various pre-events and training programmes. An exhibition took place in parallel.

The Opening and keynote sessions were filled with thought provoking and highly interesting topics around Geography and Humanity. Especially one presentation with a blind lady made big impression, who talked about the difficulties being blind and ot being able to navigate. Dutch Kadaster has developed a series of tactile maps that can be read with fingers. Afterwards at the Kadaster stand it was possible to try out the maps - with blinding glasses. This was an eye-opening experience.
