Agenda Highlights
Under the leadership of FIG President Diane Dumashie and her Council
are looking forward to greeting many members, presidents, heads of
delegation and FIG representatives onsite in Accra. We eagerly
anticipate welcoming numerous members, presidents, heads of delegation,
and FIG representatives to Accra. During the Assembly, the Council,
alongside chairs of Commissions, Networks, Permanent Institutions, and
Task Forces, will provide updates on their ongoing work. Additionally,
the Council recommends the addition of extra ex-officio members to the
council.
Networking Opportunities
Throughout the Working Week, various fora and meetings are scheduled
to facilitate interaction among members. These include the FIG Member
Association Forum, the Forum of Regional Bodies, the Academic Members
Forum, the Director General Forum, and the Corporate Member Meeting.
Furthermore, the Presidents meeting, tailored for Presidents or Heads
of Delegation from Member Associations, will be an early-bird event,
taking place from 7:30 to 9:00 on Wednesday, 22nd May. We promise there
will be some coffee available...
The Presidents meeting, for Presidents or Heads of Delegation from
Member Association will be a good-morning meeting, held from 7:30 to
9:00 on Wednesday 22 May.
Apart from these engagements, sessions organized by the ten
commissions, networks, current Task Forces, and partners will be
conducted. Additionally, dinners and tours will offer unique networking opportunities.
Election Process
A crucial item on the agenda is the election of two new Vice
Presidents. The FIG Council has received five nominations for these
positions. Similar to the past three years, the election will be
conducted online during the Working Week,
utilizing the same voting system. This enables all members (in good
standing) to cast their votes. Member associations are asked to register
their official delegate and participate actively.
This year there can be up to 4 voting rounds. To conclude the
election by the second General Assembly on Thursday, 23rd May, the first
round of voting will commence on Sunday, 19th May, at 18:00 GMT,
aligning with the time zone of the Working Week destination.
