Technical Chamber of Greece visits FIG9 December 2014, Copenhagen, Denmark
TCG and FIG had fruitful interactions and discussions during this one-day visit by Mr. Akpitidis. Discussions included the challenges faced by the Profession both in Greece and in Europe, the joy and pride of TCG and the surveying profession in Greece in having Chryssy Potsiou as the President of FIG and the support TCG will bring to President Potsiou’s Presidency. It was a useful visit where Mr. Akpitidis got acquainted with the workings and global presence of FIG as well as that of the FIG Office in administering FIG’s global presence. The meeting coincided with administrative meeting between President Potsiou and CheeHai Teo. As the current President bows out, he expressed his thanks and appreciation to FIG’s corps of volunteers, those who are in leadership within FIG as well as FIG’s membership and partners that have worked together and contributed towards enhancing the usefulness for our sciences, technologies, knowledge and practices. It is the hope that all these energies and efforts have contributed much towards advancing the utility and standing of our Profession and the Federation. He is also very thankful for the support and contribution, friendship and counsel of so many from amongst FIG’s membership, partners and stakeholders. President CheeHai Teo added in the last "Letter from the President” of this term “as my four year term as FIG President ends, it has been a tremendous professional and personal experience and remains a privilege”.
