Vice President Schroth visits MoroccoRabat, Morocco, November 24-26, 2005The Ordre National des Ingénieurs Géomètres-Topographes, ONIGT organised its 4th National Congress in Rabat, Morocco, 24-26 November 2005. The conference was attended by about 400 participants out of this 100 international. The main topic of the conference was the new cadastre for Morocco. At the opening ceremony Dr. Ralf Schroth, Vice President of FIG made his address on behalf of the federation. During the conference there was also the first meeting of the Federation des Géomètres Francophones (FGF), which was founded on 24 November in Rabat. At the meeting a Council is established with President Alain Gaudet (OGE, France) and Vice President Aziz Hilali (ONIGT, Morocco). In the FGF statutes there is a reference to the cooperation with FIG. At the meeting there were 17 founding members, among them some that are not members of FIG at the moment (e.g. Senegal). The meeting pubslished also the Rabat Declaration. At the founding meeting Dr. Schroth gave a greeting from FIG together with Moroccan Minister of Agriculture. The address was published in a press release. Further the meeting of the Arab Union of Surveyors took place on 26 November 2005. Vice President gave words of greetings and a TV interview for the Moroccan television.
